Hi! I am visited a friend in London next month and I am really thinking about relocating there if I like it to pursue a career in the fashion industry which is my dream. If I decide to live there will it hard to find employment? Or should I try to secure a job before I relocate.
I am from America. I have a BS degree in Psychology and Human Services

From what I know as an expat living in the EU (Ireland), you may need a work permit. I was able to work up to 20 hours/week on a Stamp 4 Visa as a university student. After I graduated, I couldn't get work as I was not a citizen and it was illegal. So I started my own company and that was totally legit and legal. I think the UK is quite similar. I would do a lot of research before you move as you don't want to be stuck in a dire situation. You will only be allowed in on a Tourist Visa (3 months) without a work permit. Good luck!

Sab1022 Thanks for your reply. Looks like I would definitely need to find employment before I decide to relocate but this seems to be almost impossible.

No problem. My only other recommendation is to maybe try and get a job that allows you to work online. That way you could potentially move to the UK. Not sure about which VISA you'd have to apply for though once you established yourself in the UK.
