Brit moving from Singapore to usa

I have early this year moved to Singapore from U.K. My employer now wants to move me and my family to USA. I have some questions:

If I make USA 100k basic in Singapore what should I ask for in USA (San Fran) to offset cost of living. Assume I make another 150% between bonuses and stock. It let's focus on the basic.

Assumptions:

Wife will not work
Have a newborn (3 months)
Will need a good car
Would like to live in warmer part of Bay Area

What do you think would be a comparable offset to Singapore? Would I need say 165k to match 100k?

It's hard to find a proper salary calculator due to the vary taxes by state in uS. Does anyone have a link to one? What's my total damage going to be say 150k?

Also we tend to prefer modern, contemporary and clean design. I know it isn't too common in SF so is this style going to come at additional cost?

Hi. Just a few questions back, where is your Co. based ? Will they pay for moving ? You need health insurance, who pays, are you British ? Who will do all the necessary paperwork to get you and your family the needed visas . Cars are cheap, food is cheap , compared to Europe, Housing in SF is expensive . But assume Singapore isnt cheap either. Is the position in USA long term ? I did the same as you, but alone , 11 yrs ago rfrom UK, and to the east coast, i chose where i wanted to live, ended up in Ashville NC . So much depends on the support of the Co. your working for and long term prospects. Good luck

Hi thanks for the response!

So the company is a tech company based in San Francisco Bay Area. I will get relocation package for the family, visas arranged, healthcare included in package.

The position is long term and I don't expect to leave under 5 years. I am British but as I said i live in Singapore working for the same company presently.

I'm just really concerned that I need insight into appropriate levels of comp for a good standard of living on par with Singapore or U.K. Obviously the ability to save 3-4K a month would be nice too but probably a big ask...

Hi. North of bay is warmer and cheaper than south , would think prices similar to UK , property is smaller than other parts of US again like UK. My wife lived north of Berkley , for around 10 yrs El Cerrito is also a good area. Its a great area to live in. We now live on the nature coast of Florida. 55 miles north of Tampa.
