Want to go to US, but have very old criminal record

I am having trouble law for a while now. I have a criminal charge for assault from 15 years back. I was trying to get it cleared as I wanted to go with my wife to NYC, for her job related emergencies. I tried it myself couple of times and couldn’t get a positive result. It’s been 15 years and I have no other records. What should I do now? Do you think getting a pardon and US entry will help? Should I use professional help from legal firms like Pardon Canada ( http://www.pardoncanada.com ). If then, will charge a lot for these kind of service? Any helpful advice would be most welcome.

Hi. Im a US resident from the UK As far as i understood Canadians could enter the US by just showing their passport. Theres nothing on your passport that shows your past. Couldnt you come into USA for so many months go back to Canada for a few wks then go back to US again. Have you visited the US in the past few yrs without problems? Good luck
