I would like to move to Nepal within a few months. My concern is I've never done something like this before and do not know where to begin. I still have a job, an apt and car here. Where do I begin?? Also what other jobs can I get other than teaching English? Help:(

I love Nepal and have seriously thought of moving there. I've decided to move to Mexico for a few years and then reconsider Nepal. I even started to study Nepali, including the written scriipt. You don't mention if you have visited Nepal or not. I would HIGHLY recommend spending at least a month or so visiting there before you do anything else. Namaste.

hello Monni, Its good to know that you've chosen my country to move for awhile. Its beautiful country to live and we have four different seasons. Living standard here is not that high still Kathmandu is bit expensive than other part of the cities. Other than teaching English, you can also work as a volunteer for NGOs, work in restaurant or bars, in the hotel management colleges as tourist is major foreign currency generating industry in Nepal. I can assist you for things that you would chose and feel free to contact me at rajendra.upreti@gate.edu.np (only if you feel comfortable) thank you and have a nice time.

Hi, I have lived in NP for more than a decade. If you still plan to move there I would suggest you first visit the country as a tourist for a couple of weeks. See if you like it. Use your head and stay low on emotions (I know it is tough).
Be very wary of using any unsolicited help, especially here on the forum from Nepalis.
