Hello everyone!!!!!
It's been a while I've been on here. I am still working in Iraq and visiting Nepal every chance I get. No, I have not been able to find a job and I would desperately love to get onboard with the U.S. EMBASSY, being that I'm an American. My Nepali friends are great, but unfortunately the majority of them have had to leave the comforts of their homes and country to go back to work in Iraq, Afghanistan, Malaysia or Dubai. But, at least they are able to find work. We all need to. I am going back in about 4 months. My holiday coming up I have to go back to the U.S. to take care of some business, but trust me, I wish I were going to Nepal...hahahahahhaa Just wanted to touch basis with you all and say "hello" I was trying to get in contact with one individual who personally emailed me regarding making a retirement move to Nepal and she is also American. Please respond back. I am still in contact with my Nepali friends. I am madly inlove with mine and we call each other every other day, and that is only when the signal is good and we can connect. But it hasn't been bad. I was there this January and came back in February 2010. I won't be going back until another 3-4 months or so. I have land there and the value has grown 10 times more since it was purchased. but I would like to build a home there. If I get lucky and find a job at the Embassy we will live in KTM

I am thinking of retiring in Nepal from USA. I think i"m the only other person who you could possibly be referring to. LOL! Now my partner is facing possible forced marriage when he returns to Nepal and is trying to get refugee status, preferably to USA. He certainly qualifies under persecution but he has to prove it. Anyway, I didnt' check your profile but assume you're the person who lived in Puerto Rico.. I have not been able to visist Nepal due to obligation at home. How great it would be to work at an Embassy!!! Keep us posted on how it's all going, just as you have been. Sherry

yeah there arent many gringoes retiring in Nepal! I considered it since my fiance is from Pokhara, and USCIS mite deny her a fiance visa to move to USA (jerks!), but she wants to leave there and i dont think i could really live there, its too corrupt/shakey/backward/religious, tho ive been there 14 times, and 6 months out of the past 14. but id sure as hell never live in KTM! yuk! (Pokhara Rocks!?)

Hi, I'm from Malaysia and my partner is from Nepal too We have been together for 3 yrs here in malaysia.
He has to go back this oct due to some visa procedures.
My partner and me have talked many times about where we want to settle down. I was thinking about converting part of his home & land into a B&F for back packers but If i live there I have no idea about my visas and such. He rather we live in Malaysia he said I wud hate living in Nepal. Because of the politics, the bad management o fthe country, the corruption, and In his words, "They dont have any system to follow in nepal" He was refering to the ad water, electricity, and telecommunications supply in Nepal.
I still have not decided yet as I have a child form my previous marriage and I want the est for her.
Your plight made me contact you because we oth have nepali partners, whom we love and want to be with but it is hard fo rUSA or Malaysi to issue any visas for them.
I hope to hear from you. My partner said it is very easy to get a teaching job in nepal if u r good with english. sincerely Val.
