Course Requirements for Student Visa

I will be moving to Nepal in 2012, and plan to use a Tourist Visa for part of the year (5 months max), and a Student Visa for the rest of the year.

My question is this: Does anyone know what the course requirements are in order to qualify for the Student Visa?

E.g. are there certian schools, specific programs or degrees, minimum number of hours, etc.

If you had an internet reference (I couldn't find anything) that you could point me to, that would be uber awesome!!

You have to get in contact with Tribuvan University beforehand. They have Guest student courses in Nepalese Language, Nepalese Culture and Nepalese Art. To get into the Art section is the easiest because the others are always full and there is a waiting list. Once you have filled the enrollment form and paid your admission fees and deposit for lessons, they give to you a Visa recommendation to Immigration. The (Newari) Art study place is probably the Sub Urban city University wing of Kirtipur in the south western outskirt of Kathmandu valley.

I believe it is not that hard for student Visa. I would follow the idea of getting business Visa as it is cheaper. I am also a student getting my post graduate degree. Let me know right before you come here or after you land here. I am happy to assist you. Thanks!!
