Hey all,

This is super short notice but I am looking for a room to rent in Kathmandu for April-May. Anyone out there know where to look? I'd prefer a flatshare scenario but if anyone knows any good guesthouses as well, let me know.

Cheers,
Anna

Hi Anna,Namaste!

would you like to go for home stay in a Nepalese elderly family?
It is near Swajambhunath (Monkey temple) and the good man is a retired Army officer. Food will be included in the price...but it is simple Nepalese Dhal Bhat with vegetables and only once per week meat. Also they would like to take inn only people who do not smoke. Room is nice with attached bath room. Laundry must be paid separate, because the clothes will be washed somewhere else. Price for stay which includes small breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner is 1,200 Rupees. all inn per day. Please if you want to try this out, tell me your age and Nationality, a few small details who you are etc. The old man and his wife would like beforehand.
regards
Jit

Anna..I am an American living full time in KTM. I work with HAND (Helping Assist Nepals Disabled). I have a guest house behind the airport near the Pepsi factory. It is a quiet neighborhood off the main road. The streets are paved and the surounding houses are nice with police and ministry officials living on my street. I have new bedding and pillows. Carpeted rooms. A living room with couch and chairs. A large balcony with chiars and a table. Gas heated hot shower so no waiting for the sun to heat the water. Food is not included but there is a kitchen to use or eat locally for very cheap. Depending on your plans while in Nepal the area may be good. Safety and polution are better here. MY guest house is new and you would be my first guest. If you have any special needs I am willing to help you sort them out. Let me know a budget and we can find a price that works. Most guest houses cost from 650-2000 rupees depending on location. Send me an email and I can get you pictures of the house. Curtistaylor29@hotmail.com

Thank you..Curtis
