Hello! Myself and a friend are planning on moving to Nepal next year to start a small business, but it is a bit hard to find recent estimates on costs required by the government. We had heard rumors that the cost had dropped from a required $50,000 in the business account to $20,000. Can anyone confirm this and/or offer any additional tips on the process?

I have two businesses in Nepal and have not heard this was reduced. It was 20k when I opened both of mine but has been at 50k for a while. My lawyer is one who is fighting this to be lowered but even he said it would not go back to 20k. I doubt that has happened. If you have any more questions about starting a business in Nepal feel free to contact me. It is a frustrating adventure but can be done. Use a good lawyer for sure

They are asking about the foreign investment requirement law not the cost of starting the business.
