" I''d appreciate hearing from anyone who has immigrated to NZ under the ""de facto"" category (especially those of you from Canada). Thanks! Cynthia "

" Hi Cynthia, Not sure if you''ve had private emnails on this, but for others. NZ has recently enacted legislation to include the status of de-facto under nearly all of her laws. This includes immigration, civil and property rights. Now the de-facto relationship is a proven two year relationship, joint bank account statements are the easiest way of proof for this. As part of the recent change this includes same-sex relationships - making NZ one of the few countries to do so. Hope things go smoothly for you. Mark "
