I am giving up work in the UK to travel and will be in NZ sometime towards the end of this year (September). I dont want to be tourists but want to experience the real thing.I am a professional and can turn my hand to anything and really want to live and work for a few months. I have a postgrad in Psychology and English literature and my work in the UK has made me able to handle any new challenge. Can anyone help me or offer advice?

Best wishes for your plan to visit NZ.suggest you change your Topic Title as doesn't seem to fit your request. You wrote you can turn your hand to anything - staying with families and helping out in return for accom is a great low-cost way to see a country. try www.helpx.net. Ref.teaching in NZ -Primary and Secondary schools close Dec for approx 6-8 weeks. Tertiary institutions close until March. Doubt many short period teaching jobs available from Sept .try www.edgazette.govt.nz/vacancies
Also -The TeachNZ website has details on the process for overseas teachers to follow. For more information, view www.teachnz.govt.nz
