Wanting to move to N.Z

Hi, My family (Me , husband and 2 kids) have been trying to get to New Zealand for a year now. My Husband is a secondary school teacher in History (5 yrs)and has a GTP qualification which N. Z doesn't recognise! so he is having to gain evidence of his hard work to The New Zealand Teaching Council, he also at present is doing an MA in Education to prove his worth! he is an amazing teacher and I so wish N.Z could see this.
We are not sure even if we go through all this The New Zealand Teachers Council will recognise him, it is all so frustrating.
Has anyone got any advice, experience on the matter?
We will keep plugging away!!

Hi, My husband and I and our 17 year old daughter moved to Auckland in August 2011. My husband came for a job in a large engineering firm. I have to tell you, some things have been a nasty shock! The cost of living here is astronomical - both food and housing. And the layers of middle management and red tape put the English Raj to shame. Your level of happiness here will depend in great measure upon where you are moving here from. Obviously if there are no jobs where you are, if the cost of living is already high, if you are used to rain and cold, and if you are also tolerant of layers of middle management - you'll be OK. The school system runs on their own NCEA - have your husband check it out. It's bizarre! I'd be happy to chat more off the forum if you wish! Warmly,
