I come from Cape Town which has stunning beaches like Clifton, a world famous millionaire's hot spot in summer. Or Blouberg which can be windy but has the iconic Table Mountain views. Then there is Boulders Beach in Simonstown where the penguins are protected and again tourist hot spot. Of course there is Noordhoek or Kommetjie with great surf and long isolated beaches you can walk to the foot of Chapman's Peak and nobody would believe an isolated beach like this is in Cape Town! Just stunning all round - warm current on one coast and cold current on the other side of the peninsula.

I have posted about my home town of Cape Town and its stunning beaches. Now I live in Auckland and again, different but stunning. On the west coast is the turbulent surf beach of Muruwai and Maori Bay with its black (but clean and fine) volcanic sand while on the East side are the whiter sand Long Bay or little postcard picture Torbay and lots of little bays. The east coast is protected by islands so mostly the sea looks like a lake. Then don't get started an hour north or south. Just stunning beaches. And people say Auckland has a lot of rain but every day you will experience all seasons and every day we enjoy the beach regardless of the weather.
