Hi there. Im moving there this weekend to work and live in tourism.
Im 32 and UK female moving out to live with boyfriend who is Omani.
Oman is beautiful and so offers so much more than Dubai or Abu Dhabi. It has mountains, whale watching, real stunning scenery where beach meets desert for miles upon miles. You will not be disappointed. There are loads of expats around your age or a bit older..im in touch with some of them already.
I have joined the Womens Institute to get to know more people. Also the Intercontinental Hotel is the best club for pool, gymn etc. You could join the PDO but you would have to know contacts working in that company. Otherwise the beach at Oman Dive Centre is lush and so quiet.again you would have to join there as a diver and then i guess could get the beach use for free.
Dont worry about it. Come and see for yourself. About housing, there is a real shortage but I work in a tourism company affiliated to property so we could help you find somewhere.
Mail me on lucy@gulfleisure.com for all your property or tourism needs in Oman.

Kristy forget about ur worries when ur coming to Oman .. It's a quite clean peaceful country , we have got a long beautiful beaches of 2000KM , the capital is Muscat and u can find what ever ur looking for here and if u wanna see the nature just drive to the interial and u'll be able to see a huge diversity and a big variety of nature , sands , mountains , desert , and lots mor .. People r so friendly and helpful and the country is a bit cheap looking to other countries. Weather is not so hot in summer max temp could be 45 and in winter lowest around 15.. I hope this will help u and if u wanna ask about something specific just write to me on: mx060@hotmail.com
