Hi there! I'm looking for any information on what the prospects for teaching drama in Oman's English/British schools would be. I've had extensive training and experience (as a performer and drama trainer) at highest levels the UK has to offer. I'd be ever so grateful for ANY advice/suggestions/provided, including probable schools. Thanks

Hello...

I'm in a similar situation. Here's what I would do first if I were you. Go to www.joyjobs.com and pay the 15 pounds or whatever it is to join. It's been a godsend to me. Then go to www.internationalschoolsreview.com and do the same. They have reviews by teachers of what school to teach at and what schools to avoid. I would have been snowed by some of the beautiful web pages if I hadn't read what I did on that page.

Both of those will also give you an idea of what schools are out there. There's also the TES of course which has jobs every week.

If you're in the UK, there are some major job fairs in London each year. Try a google search of SEARCH Associates, ECIS and ISS recruiting fairs.

From what I hear, specialists like Drama and Music are in demand in some places.

Good luck!! Maybe we'll end up teaching together! We're planning to apply to he American School of Muscat.

Cheers,

Beth :)
