Possible Move to Oman to teach at TAISM

Hi All,
I am considering a teaching position in Oman and would like to hear from anyone who works at the school. What is it really like to work there? I have gone on the site and the school looks wonderful. Also, if I read correctly, the school will provide an apartment for teachers to live in while they are working in Oman. I would like to know what these apartments are like? What kind of recreation does Oman have to offer and what is the shopping like? I have lots of questions that I would like to have answers to. This is a big move and I just want to be sure I know what I am getting myself into before I leave US soil.

Hi I am a local hire expat teacher at TAISM. I have only been there a short while but it is a really nice place to work It is a great facility and the staff and management are friendly and helpful. The teachers who arrived from the states seem to be well looked after tho i havent seen inside any accommodation they provide. The shopping is limited but depends what you want. I know u can buy american products and generally most things are available. Dubai is 5 hours drive if you are into designer wear!
Recreation is what you make it. In summer it is very hot and to be honest you cant get out. Otherwise there is camping, 4 wheel driving, diving,beaches,swimming,tennis.There are bars and a few clubs.
What job are you looking at?I,m not sure if your date of posting is October or May as I know americans switch the month around when writing the date, so this could be too late!
