Would like to know what to bring from States that I won't fine there.
Hair color products,dog food brands(Wellness is what she eats) Clothes,electronics etc.All advice is welcome.Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Villa or townhome w/pet hard to find or not.She is small under 5lbs

Codeine! Bring Codeine just in case you get bronchitis or a nasty cough you cannot get rid of there. I was in Oman for only three months from early August till the end of October. When I first got off the plane I thought I would die. The heat and humidity 9:30 at night was unbearable! But I choose to cover up and wear the hijab there. Anything from the drug and health food stores like Traditional Medicinals Throat Coast is a great thing to get just in case you get a sore throat.
Where exactly will you be in Muscat?
Bring your own dog food.
As far as hair color products are you a red head or blonde? I would bring all of those hair color boxes with me. Since the Carrefour or Sabco hypermarkets are packed with MiddleEastern and Indian henna coloring for the hair. As I woman, I would cover up there too. I am not saying you should wear an Abaya and niqab, but although Omani's are tolerant of people from the west, it does not mean you should wear topless shirts and miniskirts there in public.
(When I was there I was fully covered...long sleeves and long skirts
and a hijab and I still got beeped walking down the street.) But I also felt safe there too.

How did the move go? My wife and I are moving to Oman at the end of the month for a 16 month stay. We are bringing our dog. Have you had any problems we shold know about?
