hi Saira, Hi Saira, What are the best schools in Lahore? I am curious to know what you've found. We are moving from NYC to Lahore in Sep and would like to start our 7 year old in 2nd grade, and 4 yr old in preK, or something similar.

Hi
I visted a number of schools in Lahore, for me personally TNS (the new school) Beaconhouse school stood out for me. Log on to the main website for an overview of school on Beaconhouse.edu.pk and in particular the website for the project based approach of learning at the new school TNS.EDU.PK........I will be moving in November 2009 ....and will be placing both my kids in their TNS school..as for the range of other schools whom are either linked with the Cambridge University here in UK and offering the British curriculum or the American curriculum........ The American School based in Defence was of an exceptional standard however the fees are in the range of around 40,000 rsp!!!!............so I had to by pass that one!!!!........... Lahore Grammer School, Choueifat school , Lcas School ......are schools I personally recommend too to visit before decided which is the one you feel comfortable with....Roots and The City school both are one of the top performing schools too...........but unfortunately the dont have many branches in lahore ... I beleive both have the one branch in Gulberg......though both have large number of branches concertrating in the own regions......... The City ... predominately in Karachi and Roots in Rawalpindi and surrounding..............
Hope this helps.........best of luck with ur move in September ...........do keep in touch...........

The kids are in Lahore already. Wife and I are still here. My Mom went to Iqbal town Beaconhouse was totally unimpressed by the lack of AC, lack of customer service and the general attitude of the people there. Since we'll be living in Allama Iqbal Town initially, we decided not to venture too far away. So far, we're are considering just the not-so-special local school, as their curriculum and teacher to student ratio seems just as good. I checked the American School's website, and there is nothing American about it, except the price tag. And American education isn't really that good, i should know, having gone through it from beginning to end. Willl visit other schools soon, maybe.

Hello all,
I am in Lahore since 1 week. I have to say, other than the lack of cold in the winter, I'm loving every bit of it! Please reach out to me if you need any questions answered.

We are moving from London to Lahore soonish. Would like to get in touch with others who have already moved or are planning to move soon please. My wife and the little one have been there a few times already but never in the summer so far!! But I intend to go there first and sort out the AC etc. We are currently looking for a suitable shipping company that can take our household items there. It would be really helpful if others can advice about what to take, how to take, shipping company to use, and what to do about customs etc etc. Many thanks.

Hello There,
I am an American born Pakistani, who has been to Lahore a handful times. My father decided to move there for his reasons and is now ill.
I have to move (I rather not) to take care of him. I visited Lahore last yea and had a very hard time adjusting. I live in DHA, but it has been a huge culture shock. Can you guys lend me some advice in terms of settling there and making friends and so forth.
All of my family and friends reside in the US. I have been to Pakistan about 4 times in my life and am 30 years old, so any advice will be much appreciated. I realize this is turning out to be a ladies brunch group, but still try to help me out with some suggestions.
