Hi!

I am Swede by origin and I am considering moving with my husband and 2 children (5 yrs and 1 month) to Islamabad. We would not move to Islamabad due to a Posting but would live there as locals (since my husband is Pakistani). I would be happy to establish contact with anyone who has made a move like we are considering. Happy to get any information about schools and about life in general. Perhaps there are even other Swedes alreayd living there?

/M

Hi,
Glad to hear that we are not the only ones moving from Europe to Pakistan :)
We recently moved from London to Lahore and its been great so far. I am sure someone else who has moved to Islamabad will come along with the info you need regarding the schools etc. I can try and help you about life here in general.
When are you looking to move?
Good luck with everything (including shipping your stuff).
Regards,
.

Assalamoaleikum!

Thanks for your kind reply Moen Hassan. We are looking to move within a year. Our main concern here in Sweden is that our children might be influenced by bad culture in schools, and we thought that perhaps it is better to move to Pakistan. What do you think? If we move, then our concern is a security one, maybe I read the newspaper to much, but we are worried that there might be a security problem since I am of Swedish origin, although I cover in the pakistani way.

If anybody has some info about good schools in Islamabad for 5 year olds it would be great. And how should we do as she did not have any preschooling in Pakistan, I guess she is behind the pakistani children, could she get any help catching up?

Regards,
M

Salam,

M
