Hi all, I need any help I can get. My husband is a Pakistani national and we are currently fighting for his right to stay in the UK. I need to know what life would be like for me if I had to move to Pakistan. Please note, we have very little income so wouldn't be able to afford to live in a secure complex, his family live in Peshawar, I have pretty severe mental health problems, none of my family would be there. Thanks for any help

Hi, Welcome to Pakistan. There is no problem in your living in Pakistan. The only thing you need to take care of is to select a reasonable location. Since not all cities/areas are alike you will likely to see some people starring to you as you are an alien and some people will not even bother looking at you. I personally think you live in Islamabad / Karachi. You can survive in 40,000 PKR but depends on your life style and the area you are living in it can go up to 100,000 PKR

hi,
you won't have a problem at all if you just choose your area. There are tons of great new developments. Stay away from the inner old cities. I lived in the UK for 36 years, I am here now and my kids won't go back.

Best choice of city would be Islamabad. We are a Brit family moved to Lahore which would be your second best choice. We travel to Islamabad frequently and feel it would be a better choice to live, however we have more family here in Lahore which is the reason why we still stay here. Best time to move is during the winter or just before winter around October time. This would give you a chance to get seasoned/climated to the local climate and set up your air cons etc. You will then slowly move into the summer which is pretty warm here, but atleast this will give you a better chance and you will be prepared.
Anything specific you need advice on, please just ask and someone will try to help usually.
BTW you are Brit or Australian? (or a Brit living out in Australia and now moving to Pak?)
Good luck with your move.

Hello, I am a british passport holder who lived in Britain for 20 year. My origin is from Morocco, but I adapted and lived in UK, it was my home where I settled and have family and friends. I met my Pakistani husband in London, but later after marriage and due to changes he had to leave and come back to Pakistan. I live near Lahore, not in Lahore, one hour away. I am struggling to adapt to life here, miss my independency and my social life back home. Been here for almost a year but still struggling. Would love to meet other expats or chat every now and then for advise and ideas. Thank you Nada

Where in Scotland are you from. I’m from Edinburgh and I am thinking of moving over end of next year. What paperwork do you need to get from the consulate in Glasgow. I know I can get an POC card now but not sure if from uk or Pakistan as I got married in Pakistan.
