I did post information on "elementary schools" on 11/23/2001 but now it says "This message has been deleted by the administrator. "

Hi fleabis
yes you can rretire in panama very nicely you have to options one is panama city and other the interior of the republic. Panama City is a cosmopolite city not ta expensive and in the interior I will recommend boquete in the chiriqui high lands where I live, there are two private schools one elementary and the other secundary and in DAvid (30 minutes away their a a full bilingual) there many options, the cost of living in boquete is cheaper thatn panama city but its more quiet. There are a lot of benefits for retirees. If you want moreinformation please donot hesitate to cantact me at infboquete@hotmail.com Demetrio

Yes, somebody is out here. I believe that I sent you an e-mail recently about the good and bad of living in Panama. My name is Lee and my e-mail address is: ezflyer36@yahoo.com. If you did not get my original e-mail and would like the straight poop about Panama, please e-mail me. I lived in San Jose, Costa Rica for 3 1/2 years and then two years in David, Panama. David is in the province of Chiriqui. So, let me know if I can help.

Hi Lee,

I read your reply to "Is anyone out there" and want to know more about relocating to the high land, perhaps the volcan area or Boquete. We are visiting again this Feb., so if I could hear from you before then, I'd really appreciate it!

Wev'e heard it's easy to get ripped off on land deals, and not to trust some of the Americans dealing in land there, is this true? Also, how much does it really rain in the rainy season. We live in Portland oregon, so we are used to rain, but still it would be nice if it just rained hard and then the sun came out. Here it can remain gray for months!

We are quiet folks, we like to bird watch and aren't into a lot of night life, but would like some ineraction with other expats and new found Panamaian friends. Are there social clubs in the area or Audubon societies?

My Spanish is better than my husbands, but that's not saying much, but we really didn't have too much trouble getting by last visit.

Any thing in way of tips you can offer would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Renee
