Panama is a great place to retire, as is Costa Rica. In my opinion, what Panama has that Costa Rica does not is a "first-world" city. Panama City offers movie theaters, shopping malls, grocery stores, fine dining, and much more. When I feel homesick, it is easy to find "comfort" items, such as See's Candy! Also, there are no hurricanes in Panama either. The weather is more humid than Costa Rica, but you get used to it. There is a real estate boom in full effect right now. There will be some spectacular high rise buildings, gated golf communities, among others, in Panama very soon. I encourage all to visit!
