Where do we look to live

We are coming in on Tuesday morning. We are going to spend the week trying to find a place to move into. We are looking for an Expat area where others speak English....mainly because we have a pre-teen and he hasnt learned the language yet. We dont want the shock to be too overwhelming. We are looking at staying in the Panama City area, but I am wondering if anyone knows of areas that might have more of an expat community. We cannot afford to send him to the high priced American schools there or live in the high priced neighborhoods....we can only afford to pay around 1200 a month. But we are hoping for a family friendly area with other kids around. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Also we are looking to rent a house that is 3 or 4 bedrooms, preferrably in a gated are and with a small backyard for our 2 small dogs.

Sorry to be so lengthy.

Panama City has a hot and humid climate. We are moving to Boquete where the temps range from 60-80 year round. We have found that about 10% of the population is expats and the housing is fairly reasonable. There are houses listed online for $800-$1500 per month with the requirements you are looking for. We have a 10 yr old son and found that there is an affordable private bi-lingual school in the area, but have not had the chance to visit it, as it was summer break when we visited in Nov. Good luck with your quest.
