Hi, I'm planning to visit Boquete this December. What is the best way to get there from the US? fly to Panama city and then take a flight to David and then drive from David? Drive from Panama City? Fly to another city? What do you suggest?
As this will be my first trip to Bouquete, where do you suggest I stay for a week or so? Any suggetions will be greatly appreciated. I'm in my early 60's and getting ready to retire. Thanks for your assistance.
Mike

Panama City is the best arrival point to Panama, from there, Boquete is about seven hours driving so, yes, you are better off flying to David and from there either rent a car, Boquete is only 30 minutes or so away, or take a taxi or a bus. I recommend driving there. There are many places to stay from ridiculously expensive to reasonable. You might want to stay in Panama City a couple of nights while you make your arrangements.
Boquete is a very small town and in a week you should learn just about all there is to learn about the place. While you are there, you might want to visit Volcan, which is about an hour and a half driving and is a more relaxed and less busy town in which to retire.
Any further assistance, please let us know.

MIke, The best way to reach boquete will be through tocumen international airport(panama city), transfer to panama city hotel, overnight for 2 nights to arrange hotels and flights.
take a flight with air panama or aeroperlas, these will cost 80.00 per way. the flight is to David, here could pick up rental car at the airport (car reserved from panama city, day of arrival)
drive to boquete almost 1hour
here I could recomend Oasis, is near the park and town, and has a very good rates and rooms !!!!
check these links ?
hope this info helps

Make sure you understand that the international airport is totally opposite from the domestic airport. In other words, its about a 60-90min transfer between the two airports - which is why you should spend a night or two in Panama City to get settled before flying over to David.
HOWEVER, I understand that Copa Airlines (which uses only the International airport), will be starting to fly to David out of that airport. So no need to transfer all the way across Panama City. (But I'd recommend seeing the city if you can!)
