I drove to El Valle this past Saturday to see who this Mark is. I did what Mark had posted, ask anyone in town where I could find him, well folks, let me tell you, he was right. A local man with a bicycle and a monkey told me to go to TY's by the antenna, if he wasn't there he told me how to get to his house(U can't hide here)..
I arrived at TY's and Mark was pointed out to me. I paid Mark up front for his time and information that I was about to receive, (rum and Coke is the standard rate). I stayed for a couple of hours and Mark was up front and truthful. My wife, daughter and I really enjoyed our time with Mark, his wife, and several other expats.
Mark treated us as if we were long lost friends being reunited... Mark, from my family to yours, THANK YOU, that saturday afternoon was great..Thanks

Well just wanted to tell you , what a waste of my time meeting you... dang..... your wife and baby were off the charts, you on the other hand two or three millon sprem and your the one who won?????? dang sad really.,... rofl.... it was my honor to meet you and your wonderful family.. all I can say is I am so happy you picked to live in panama city two hours away from me. luv ya my brother from a differ. mother.... glad to meet you all... well two of you anyway..

Okay, Markitos... Altoid-vs-ElValle: Am stymied. qual es mejor if all I want is peace and quiet (not a 'joiner', don't like humans much, especially Gringos hijueputas que molestan). Many yrs in Arraijan y Ciudad de Panama ('59-'78) and want to come home. US tankin', time to bail. But: ADM of ElValle?

well I picked el valle over adm just because your closer to more stuff and the roads are pretty steep in places. not much up there at all to do. it is pretty and cool but overpriced as well.

802MARK: I watched some ADM people tear a prospective new resident to shreds over on their blog site the last few days. It was horrendous! I'm telling everyone I know to go read it! They all say the same thing, "wow, wouldn't want to live there!" ADM is off all of our radars now for sure! The residents seemed disgruntled, bitter, stuck, and miserable!

thats what happens when you open up and take a big ole bite of the cherry only to find you just bit into the pit and broke a dang tooth. I can never type this enough times to all you new people..... RENT FOR A YEAR. you buy your stuck,, things change,, most new people are so happy to be moving to this wonderful place they are school girls that the football quaterback just winked at... don't be blinded by the pretty pic.. so the under part as well.
this is a huge bite of your hard earned cash.. make sure it is what you want and where you want and how you want it.
I have seen all types of things happen to good people that come here, they get home sick, they can't learn to slow down, they get bored, or plain fed up,, maybe a family member back home is sick,, then what? sale that home you bought for 325k and go back? good luck, got to find that right person who just happen to have that same dream as you did to do that.
this is many of the reasons you will find gringos in these fourms that are mean and have a bad out look to everything. they spend hours on here just looking for a fight...
we all go through it down here, once the honey moon is over then comes the real time that you will have to change a few things and learn how to go with the flow.. I love to say it is what it is.
like today a friend of a friend has been here for a month and we were having coffee and he said o man I think I'll go take a long nap.. I said you bored? he said heck no I could live this way my whole life... me thinking sure because your new and still on the beach honeymoon, wait till you move here and tell me that in a year or two.. hope you still feel the same way. if so your home.
thats why I say rent a year and see how you feel at the end. if your still happy then go buy something, if not go buy a ticket and head out.

Altos de Maria it's a place they sale homes outside of el valle. that's what they call the place so people just type in ADM for short.
