A Few Questions

I'm pulling together an article for Expat Exchange about 5 great places to live in Panama. I've based the selections on all of your insightful posts on the forums -- and I basically pull brief excerpts to compile the article. I have a few questions that I hope forum members can help with:

How long does it take to travel to Panama City from Volcan, Boquete, El Valle, David and Bocas del Toro?

Can someone offer a short description of David and expat life there? What type of homes or apartments do expats in El Valle, Boquete, David, Volcan and Bocas del Toro typically live in and what the rental cost range for a nice (but not luxurious) place?

How are local medical services in these cities/towns? Would you visit local doctors or travel to Panama City if you had a medical issue?

Also, what's your favorite restaurant, bar and hotel / B&B in these cities/towns?

If you live in one of these places and want to submit a quote about life there to be used in my article, that would be great! E-mail me at betsy@expatexchange.com. Also, if anyone has a nice photo that we can publish in the article of any of these cities/towns, please send them to betsy@expatexchange.com.

Thanks for all of your help!

We are in La Acequia which is half way between David and Boquete ( about 15 min. to each) and the trip to Panama City usually takes us between 5 1/2 to 6 hours depending on the traffic. The hospital in David, Chiriqui Hospital is quite good and we have no complaints, it is also reasonable with many good doctors and very reasonable medical insurance. We haven't been faced with anything major but if they could not accomidate it in Hospital Chiriqui it is only a 45 minute flight to Panama City. Life is good here, we are close enough for easy access to shopping and medical and far enough for peace and privacy.
