Very small village. Not likely to grow quickly. Very little crime because there are not enough expats, there yet, with all of their "stuff". In 20 years it will grow to become a small town. Santiago will always be it's trading area. Weather is cooler than Santiago, and wetter. Similar to El Valle for temperatures. The Morillo beach area will not be affected by the new shipping port.

It;s actually a few degrees warmer than El Valle because it's a bit lower in elevation. Aren't they building the road to the Carribean? That will increase population, traffic, and crime.

Starting coming to Panama 10 years ago for the winters and finally moved completely about 5 years ago. Currently living in Boquete but I have lived all over Panama at different times. I have a farm in Penonome, I stay in Pedasi whenever I get the chance to get away to the beach at the Loft. I am off to South America in December for at least 4 months and if I like it............who knows........Life is good.

I think that you will really like it there. Santa Fe is very far from the beach. That beach is great for surfing.........I love that entire Playa Venao area...............

Yes jonoyakker, that road to the Carribean will tend to increase the population in Santa Fe, and increase traffic and crime, but that is progress I guess. They will eventually do the same thing to Boquete. Right now, the roads dead end here, but there has been talk for years about extending it into the Bocas area. There has been a great deal of opposition however, and currently you can get to Bocas by going through Caldera, Gualaca and over the great divide, so no current hurry to bust through Boquete with a super highway............
