Panama City, November 29, 2014 – Copa Airlines {NYSE: CPA}, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A. and a member of the Star Alliance global network, announced that beginning January 15, it will operate two direct flights between San Jose de David, Chiriqui, and the Hub of the Americas in Panama City. These flights will connect Chiriqui, an important province, with Copa Airlines’ extensive route network in North, Central, and South America.
Copa Airlines’ CEO Pedro Heilbron said that the Panamanian airline is primarily interested in “increasing the opportunities for tourism and business in this important province of Panama, by connecting Chiriqui directly to Latin America’s main hub and the 69 international destinations it serves.”
With these two new flights, Chiriqui’s residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the world-class service that Copa Airlines is known for, as well as one of the best levels of on-time performance worldwide. In other words, travelers from Chiriqui will be able to eat breakfast in San Jose de David in the morning, and eat dinner in Buenos Aires or Miami later that same day.
