These questions are for anyone that has applied and received a permanent Visa in the past 2 years.
Did you apply before you got to Panama or after arrival??
Roughly how much did it cost for an attorney?
About how long did it take to get your application approved?
Thanks for your response and please keep my post on the topic with Facts and no personal Opinions!

There are lota of threads on this forum on the topic of visas. But let me offer the abbreviated version of my experience.
Applied before moving to Panama. Didnt want to do the border hops every few months.
We paid $2,500 attorney fees for both of us and are pleased with the services. We were required to visit three times to initiate, process and finalize the visa.
We began in April 2014 and received temp cedula in October. This was slower than usual due to the change in presidential administration in July, plus time for travel planning.

Thank you for the response. I am new to this site and don't know all the tabs yet. The ones that I have clicked on are not "country" specific. Is there a specific tab with Q&A's??

Thank you for that info and some referrals. I will keep it in mind. I looked at your motel website. Can you message me some prices?

We also applied prior to moving to Panama - I posted a lengthy thread a few weeks ago about the process we went through, and the costs.
We received our temporary visas in September, 2014 and our final visas were approved in January, 2015. We will be moving in March and will visit the immigration office to pick up our permanent Pensionado visas then!
