Coming from the US I don't know how a weapon is looked upon in Panama to the general public having them. Any ideas out there?

Tried that got nothing other than people who had guns in a revolt or war in people talking points. Anyone who can answer my question or direct me to an exact location on the subject would be great. Thanks ranadelnorte for the info.

Try this for starters:

There are additional threads as well.

Using the search function should bring them right up.

Good luck!

OK,,,I don't know a lot about guns, but I can tell you what I've been told. You MUST register your weapon and get a special permit to carry here in Panama. They are VERY strict about weapons here. It is a automatic 7 year prison sentence if not registered properly. I would suggest you contact a local REPUTABLE Attorney by email and ask your question.

Also, they will take #'s and pictures of your gun. If for any reason, you want to sell, trade or dispose of, you must go through the national police here in Panama. Hope this helps just a little. Guns are not plentiful here in Panama. Our neighbors had 4 hand guns and they said it was a nightmare getting them in.

IF You have the Benjamin's You can have a firearm. New President, probably new rules. It was easier to buy there new than try to import your own firearm. Carry allowed with the appropriate permits. It has been discussed here before in Detail. Sale, Registration, Medical & Psychological Interview, etc. Napoleonic Code Guilty until proven Innocent But my rule Judged by 12 or Carried by 6, Trumps old dead Bonaparte.
