I am coming to Panama from Feb through April for 1) R&R and 2) scouting it out as a potential retirement location. As a new retiree, I would like to find opportunities to give some of my time and skills for a worthwhile cause. What volunteer opportunities are there in the Gorgona/Coronado area, where I will be in Feb and March, and in Boquete, where I will be in April? Also, please supply me with any contact information you may have. I am a health care professional but I have been involved in tutoring and eco volunteer opportunities in the States.

One visit my wife & I volunteered at a spade & neutering dog clinic in Coronado in an open air building on the Pan Am hwy. In Boquete don't forget Tuesday mornings at the BCP center, ExPat gathering, they can advise you on all topics.

Boquete is the volunteer capital of Panama. As was mentioned, go to the BCP building any Tuesday morning from 8 or 9 am until noon and ask anyone at a booth, who to talk with regarding becoming a volunteer in Boquete. There are orphanages, clinics, and more. Look up doctors in Boquete who always have volunteer help. The Social Service hospital in Boquete across from the Bomberos or Fire Department would love to have volunteers.
