What are your recommendations for a 3 days visit (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) to Chiriquí?
What to see, where to go, what to do? Trip is for tourism not for a future move to the area. Could you go to Bocas and back in one day? Can you leave your car in a safe area while in Bocas? How long (hours) from Boquete to Bocas?
Any suggestions are welcome!

It would be very hard to do Bocas in a day. It is better to spend at least one night.
You can take a shuttle out of Boquete to Bocas. It leaves at 8am. Then take the shuttle back from Bocas to Boquete the next day. It leaves at 11ish
Or, you can fly AirPanama from David to Bocas then back.
Shuttle is $30 a person and includes water taxi to Isla Colon
I think the flight is $60 a person and lands at the airport at Isla Colon.
There are a lot of things to do in Chiriqui. What to do depends on what you are looking for.
zip lines horseback riding hiking trails botanical gardens jeep tour to top of Volcan Baru hike to top of Baru white water rafting island tours from Boca Chica birding tours the list goes on and on

Panama Jackie: Thank you for your reply. I was not sure about the Bocas trip from David and wanted to give the correct info.
The hiking trails and island tours sound like good options.

We just returned from that area. We rented a car in David and stayed in Boquete taking day trips from there to Volcan and surrounding areas. We delivered the car back to David and flew to Bocas, a good choice as it gave us more time in Bocas. The flight over Boquete was beautiful and I hear the shuttle ride is also a great way to see the country although it takes over 3 hours. There is a secure parking structure in Almirante if you take your rental car where you take the water taxi over to Isla Colon. If you take the shuttle or the public bus beware the overeager baggage handlers at the water taxi station that will take your bags without asking and then expect a tip. We used AirBnB for our entire two weeks in Panama and were not disappointed.

If you decide to drive from Boquete or David to Bocas, please be aware that the indiginous population in the mountains are actively protesting the construction of a new hydroelectric dam, and sometimes block the (only) road between Boquete/David and Bocas.
We just returned form our first trip to Bocas (flying via Air Panama from David) and it was great, but I wouldn't advise trying to do it in one day.
FYI, the flight from David leaves at 7:00 a,m and returns at 5:00 p.m.

@sfk. Thank you for your message. the couple ended up staying in Boquete and driving to Cerro Punta and other areas. They enjoyed their time and loved the food.
I am planning to go next year. Will follow your advise and fly to Bocas.
