Have you visited the complex? Are you satisfied with the interior finishes? Are you pleased with the area at the end of calle 50?

Well, yes I have visited the complex and the finishes are not that bad compared to others I've seen in panama city. In regards to being at the end of Vía Centenario I think strategically OKay. We won't be living there all year round. Opinions appreciated.

You make it sound a little bit like you are settling for what you've seen so far. Just make sure that you can really live with it. And if you plan to rent it out that it will be marketable. Unless you are in a hurry you can still explore other options before committing.
I am not familiar with 4 Isles. Is it near CDE?

4 Isles is located at the end of Vía Centenario crossing Via Espana. Next to where "the Roosevelt Statue used to be (many moons ago). the crossing of both avenues form a circle.

Why would anyone ever want to consider living in Panama City? You should check out Medellin, Colombia. It is a much nicer place to live. Much better investment opportunities as compared to an apartment in Panama City. I have lived in Panama for 16 years.

Hey, volcan where do you live now? I heard it few times, that Medellin is much better. Recently seen news that Medellin, city of 3.5 mill people, has recorded 200 consecutive days without a single murder....sounds like a paradise, with the weather they have there :)

Here is my input on the 4 Islas project: -Grupo Carreras, the developers, are Spanish. They have several projects around PTY aimed at the entry level to mid-level segment of the market. -The 4 Islas condos are VERY small by PTY standards (65 sq. m. for a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom). This size might be perfect if you'll be there only occasionally, but could affect resale value. -There are pros and cons to think about regarding purchase of a resale versus a condo still under construction. -The old saying about real estate - location, location, location - applies here. I'd spend time in the neighbourhood at all hours, see what the amenities are like - shopping, banking, etc. Be especially attentive to traffic noise, now and for the future. The noise is what personally would put me off this location - just an opinion -As Panama2017 says, don't settle for just good enough. -I think PTY is a wonderful place to live for reasons too numerous to list here, so I'd just ignore Volcan who is beating the drum for Medellin. Good luck!

Volcan, wise words. Dollar strong vs COP. Wonderful culture. Dignified ,clean, strong work ethic, Best example of Latin first world. BUT Panama ranks higher by International Living so it must be better. Even better than the crumbling apart infrastrcture. morally inept police state called USA.

Medellin has an almost perfect climate at 1600 meters in elevation fairly near to the equator. No distinct rainy or dry season. Clean no trash nice museums. I live in Volcan, Chiriqui , Panama. If it wasn't for my 7 hectares and home that I built I would not hesitate to move to Colombia. People are super nice and helpful. Superior culture, better culture, etc. Food is much cheaper, etc.

An apartment in a high rise in Panama City is likely to lose value over time. A terrible investments especially if the building is not as well maintained as it should be which is highly likely.

Suffice to say that the old saying "different strokes for different folks" comes into play here. I have visites Medellin and prefer Panama City for numerous reasons that I won't get into.
But, the statement regarding property values is just plain inaccurate. My property appreciated substantially during the past year and in certain neighborhoods this is true across the board. Research it.

Males tend to have a stronger affinity than females toward Medellin due to the amazing paisitas that dot the town. Aside from Medellin there's also a place called home sweet home where everyone speaks your language and life is great if you are successful. A better option for some of us.
