I'm wondering if anyone can help

I have 2 devices that need 240v input. Can anyone advise where can buy a voltage convertor in Panama City?

What is your application?

If you are asking about using European sourced 220V 50 Hz appliances here than you should be able to find a suitable adapter at Pana Foto. I have also seen them at Machetazo.

Or if you are talking about running high current 240V items like a electric clothes dryer or range etc. ?

if it's like a plug play like the ones they sell to travelers, you can find it in Panafoto calle 50 or computer connection next to Multicentro, next to Sky business center

My Xbox one and PS4 both need 110v convertors. they are about 80w each so a basic convertor should be ok.

The xbox one has an external power pack that can be changed but no-one here has a 110v power pack. The PS4 has an internal power pack so 100% needs a convertor plug.

So basically if i buy one convertor with 110v in and 2 x 240v out then I could run both consoles.

Panafoto didn't have one unfortunately and my spanish isn't great yet.

I was going to suggest that if you strike out at Panafoto or a local electronics shop that Amazon be your next step looks like you beat me to it. Just be sure what ever adapter you use also compensates for the frequency difference between 50Hz European systems and 60 Hz North American system. The power frequency is used to keep the CPU clock in sync so the difference may cause some unpredictable results otherwise.

However if you end up ordering off Amazon you may be farther ahead just to get the 110V adaptors

https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Original-Supply-Adapter-Replacement/dp/B00L4VSTN4/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1468087524&sr=1-3&keywords=xbox+one+power+supply

More expensive in the short term but potential less painful in the long haul

Panama residential is same as US. A 120/240V system. The lack of info and detail of your question shows the degree of your lack of knowledge. Why on Earth would you need a converter? What device is so essential you could not just go buy another made in China appliance rather than whatever voodoo ritual I suspect you are attempting?
More info. What EXACTLY are you installing? God this forum is like a AOL chat room level of intellect most days...

What an absolutely useless response.

If you take the time to read above you will see that this is reference a PS4 and xbox one console.

Both devices have 110v US models and 240 UK models and are not interchangeable.

A convertor or different power pack must be used and I cannot find one here.

Now despite all this being clearly outlined above it seems you are the one that does not understand so please refrain from posting further.

In the mean time I'll go and try and find a chinese Xbox one copy shall I? lol

his device has a european plug
line 220 neutral and ground
he needs to buy a local 220 plug and socket (2x110 lines)
maybe he can plug in next to an AC
50Hz can be ignored
unless you have timer motors which would run a bit faster with 60Hz
the life span of electric motors might also be shorter

@ TheCodFather
your device should be auto switching
get an adapter (not a converter) before you cut off the plug
chinese stores have them usually
if you open your device there might be different voltage settings

The device should be auto switching? So you advise him to run an experiment to see if the device switches...or if it fries? I suggest that before he try any experimentation that he check with the manufacturer. They will be able to tell him diffinitively.

if you have air conditioners
try to plugin where your AC is
electric ranges, dryers and water heaters are mostly 220
otherwise you would have give me your Email via PM to exchange photos

You have to undertand the diferent in electricity types in panama first. And also to know more about the equipment you need to plug in 240 v.

Most electronic equipment can use 240 to 110v. No matters. The internal regulator do the job.
In other hand, high consuming equipmemt only use high voltage like air conditioning that use 220v.

In panama every house has two line od 110v. Is the equipment need 220v, we connect the two 110v line. In europe and US there use 240v one line. That is not compatible with the 220v in Panama.
In my job back to 2002, we bougth an germany equipmemt that use 240v. We install a transformator to supply that voltage.

Well i hope this information help you.
