We just spent 6 mos in Antigua, Guatemala (2nd trip- longest stay) and absolutely love Guatemala!!! BUT...we travel with a service dog and this year the large fireworks were almost daily and non stop. Nothing we or the vets could do helped as he could feel the air pressure change. Anyone know anywhere where the fireworks are not a daily occurrence? Any help will be most appreciated! Kitaniga

I have heard that thunder jackets also help with fireworks.

I know you asked a specific question,,,,but not sure if I truly understand the question. So with that being said,,,,I think you are asking about a place where they have very few fireworks, Panama has fireworks on very special celebrations. But we have not found them to be extreme. Panama is very pet friendly. In our little town of Boquete, you can go out any given night and find Expats sharing dinner with their dogs in any of the local restaurants. I know you have a "service" dog but you will be welcomed anywhere. Do not worry about fireworks here.

Hopefully I understood your question. If not,,,,,so very sorry.

fireworks are part of everyday life in panama. new birth, fireworks, any bday fireworks, marriage fireworks, any church based holiday fireworks. any reason for a parade day, fireworks. they love loud parties, barking dogs all night, fireworks, and loud music. it's just the way it is.

It is possible to escape fireworks and noise but it takes legwork to find such places. For instance, here in El Valle, we have a neighborhood named Gaital where no locals live. Only expats and wealthy Panamanians. It might sound snobish to live there but if you are noise sensitive, it is an option. Its a bit pricier but a nice area.
