Young Family Visiting Panama

Hi All,

Our family will be visiting for two weeks in late March to consider a future move to Panama. My wife and I have three young children ages 1, 3, and 5.

I'm hoping for suggestions on places to visit during our upcoming stay. We are interested in visiting areas that we may live and staying in the types of homes that we might actually rent should we move to Panama.

Our main requirements are:
-Safe
-Close proximity to an international school
-A relatively vibrant community with local markets and activities for our children

We are open to both beach and mountain towns; but our ideal choice would be a town at a higher elevation to escape the heat but is also drivable within an hour or less to the beach.

I assume we will want to visit both Coronado and Boquete, but I'd love other suggestions! Thank you in advance!

I believe there is a private school in Volcan, so that would me another possible mountain location.

We live near Dolega which is halfway between Boquete and David at about 1500' elevation. There is an International Academy 5 minutes from us and is surprisingly affordable. Also good safe community.

Renting here in Nueva Gorgona (next to Coronado) and our kids attend PCIS here in town. Has worked well for us and would be happy to share experiences. Kids are 5 and 10. PM me if you would like. Good Luck!
