Coral Suites - not near but not far either, but the room rates are reasonable, the rooms are large with a kitchenette, and there is a lovely rooftop pool. Perfect spot if you are staying more than a single night.

I would suggest you consider looking for a hotel close to your lawyers office rather than to the immigration office. You will be spending much more time with them. Plus when it was time to file the papers mine drove me to the immigration office so being close their should not really be a consideration..

And. If the Immigraton office is still in Bella Vista Sanley is correct, once a beautiful barrio of P.C. You really don't want to stay there now. PL

Panama2017 BV has seen its "hay day", OK durning the day but iffy at night, one night leaving the Saloy Casino a police warned me not to walk back in the direction on Via España area near Calidonia. My pick of area to stay is El Cangrejo, Close to every thing & safer to walk at night. Some good cheaper hotels in the area also. FYI. PL

I think you may be a bit confused. The immigration office is on Tumba Muerta in El Dorado. Bella Vista is a good area, in the touristy part (El Cangrejo, Obarrio, Marbella) . You will get a good taste of life and culture of Panama there, plus there are things to do in the evening close by.. Nothing wrong with El Dorado though, but it is a more commercial area so when the businesses close at 6pm you are miles from anything other than a few strip malls and fast food joints,

Thanks StanleySankey, it's the passport office I'm thinking of, it's in BV & I need to renew my passport next visit. El Dorado is the new "China Town" in P.C. El Dorado has lots of history, first shopping mall, the round building "como se llama" http://bit.ly/2nyP2G9 & lots of shopping & restaurant in ED. Bella Vista was the original "upscale" neighborhood in P.C. before Golf Heights & San Francisco, the ole BV theatro on Via España & the Lux Theater shows the sad remains of what was great. Interestingly google map shows BV to include El Cangrejo, El Carmen, Obarrio & Marbella, see: http://bit.ly/2mGGBo9 OK StanleySankey, et al, back to my St. Patrick's day celebration in the USA, TX. Anybody got any got St. Patty's celebration stories in Panama? Sadly the Balboa Elks had to cancel their party after all the years that they had one, the Elks is going the way, once open 24/7, now a shell of its ole self.

No, Country Suites in El Dorado. Mid priced and good value. Just off the Corredor Norte. It's close to immigration and I'm pretty sure it has a pool. One caution-there is a stupid step coming in and out of the bathrooms. At least the two times I stayed there.

We like Hotel Milan in El Cangrejo. Plenty of good restaurants within a block, 5 min. taxi ride to Migracion and if you have a temp. residency and pay cash you can get a large suite for $50/night. Also very clean and great security and staff. Sorry no pool.

Jonoyaker,,
You are correct about the location of the Country Inn and Suites. It does have a pool and breakfast. I have stayed there twice. I also enjoy having the little shopping center next to it. There is a nice pet store there.
