Hi, I like to know if there are any banks or Cooperatives with English or German speaking staff?
Also I like to know if one can open an account without a Cedula just with the permanent residents permit?
Thanks,
Maik

In most banks in Asuncion, you will find English speaking people.

You can open an account with your passport and residence ID.

If you are a US citizen, they will ask you to fill out an additional form providing your SSN for US reporting purposes.

There are certain saving accounts that do not require a lot of paperwork,

If you are looking for German speaking banks, then Banco Regional might be one to try since they are owned by German Mennonites. It is a good bank.

Hi mrodas,
how are you? Thank you for your reply. Can you tell me if finance cooperativas are covered by something like a deposit insurance? I read that banks are, but I am not sure about cooperativas.
Also from what amount of money do I need proof?

Thanks for your advice.

Maik
