First Visit to Peru

Greetings all:
My family and I are just now planning our visit next year. My wife is Peruvian by birth. All of her family resides in Arequipa. She hasn't visited since 1972! I have a lot of questions. However, I will keep my initial requests short. When is the "rainy season"? As an avid golfer, I'd like to avoid that. Any suggestions as to where I should play? Would it be easier for us to purchase property in Peru with my wife's Peruvian citizenship? Most importantly, can she expect a hassle coming and going from the U.S. and Peru? Thanks in advance!

Wayne

Hi!
I'm Peruvian, from Lima. But I know when the rainny season is in the Andes (Arequipa), it's from December until April, more or less.
Regarding golf, there is a Peruvian Golf association. I don't have the website with me and don't know if people play golf in Arequipa. But you might want to enter Golf Peru in Google and something should come up.
Right now it's a great time to buy property in Peru because the prices are very low. It's amazing to see the kind of property you can get in LIma for less than 200 thous. $ ! It might go a bit lower next year.
Good luck!

I just had my first visit to Peru and fell in love with the Huanchaco area. I can't tell you anything about jobs, I wasen't looking. But I loved the surf and the cost of living. The worst experiance is not being understood when I speak. Start today and learn Latin Spanish. From Lima to Trujillo, take the super bus.7 hours and about 60 Soles(apx$15US).I liked it so much I want to immigrate tomorrow.
