I am moving to Lima and want to get some advice on the best way to handle the car situation. I will have my family with me but will only be in Lima for a year. Are there leasing agencies or do I have to buy a car and then sell at the end of the year? Any and all advice would be appreciated

A year is too long to bring your car as a tourist and you would have to take it out of the country. Importation is expensive , duty and other taxation can cost around 45% of the cars MSRP and the car must be less than 5 yrs old. Leasing is not common. I would think that you would look to buy a used one as they are readily available and sell it on departure.
