Hello, we are a family of 5 and we are looking to move to Peru. We have never lived anywhere internationally we are US citizens living in Florida right now. We have no idea how to make this move.
What are family friendly areas to live that is inexpensive?
And how do you find places to rent that is furnished for long term? Everywhere we search it's vacation rentals.
Please help! Any additional information about moving here is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Wooooooo,,,, Nate,,,
take a breath,, slow down...

Intuition tells me that you want Out of Florida and out of the States. Fine, but there is a LOT to consider.

If I am doing the math correctly, you have three kids,, how old are they.
Do they and you speak Espanol?

Have you considered how you will make a living here in Peru. Also, you need to be concerned about your kids education. Private Schools abound here because the typical public school is insufficient for Peruvians. Coming from the US Ed. System you will find Vast differences. So this is important for your consideration. Not to mention Tuition...which can be pricey.

Have you visited South America and specifically Peru.

Filling in the blanks and connecting the dots is sure to get you better responses. I mean,, where to start?

It is difficult for One Single Lone person to put is all together. Moving a family to a great but very different culture is quite a task.

Break it down a little.

Even before considering all of that, you have to check out the immigration rules that will apply to you to gain entry and of course Residency for you and everyone in the family.

Thank you for your reply,
I speak Spanish, my wife and oldest daughter speak a little bit. My kids are 6, 2, and 1. We have not been yet to Peru, we were going to visit in January to decide if we wanted Peru or Ecuador. As far as income I have a steady income from the VA, and my wife works online. We talked to a few people and they said that it's best to make this move while the kids are young because they are better at adapting at a young age. As far as education we found online programs that we can homeschool our kids.
We are just trying to find good areas to live as a family that are not expensive, and how to find rentals that are NOT vacation homes. That way we can estimate how much we will be paying a month.

Thank you :)
