Moving from the US

If I wanted to pick up and move out of the US to Peru today.. is it possible?

I want to become a permanent resident.

How do you become a permanent resident?
What is the cost?
Are there any mandatory shots/vaccinations?
Is public or private school mandatory for children?
Once you own a property is there any taxes? How much are they?

I am wanting to live in a permaculture environment.. not so big on city life.
Rural would be best..

you would first need to qualify for a visa
under one of Peru's schemes and get your Carnet Extranjeria. Once you hold it for two years you can qualify for citizenship or permanent residency. Schools are obligatory here, but I believe you can homeschool. If you work taxes are 30% for a foreigner. If you own property you will pay property taxes which are usually pretty cheap.

Except for the Jungle / Amazonas,, there are no mandatory inoculations.
But,, it is Advisable to update all vaccinations before you depart.

It might be a thought for you to make a trip and visit Peru for a while and travel the country to see some of what you are asking about. Rural here is a trip back in time,,,,,

I am not sure what you mean by Permaculture but if that means living off the land without thinking about money or electronics or things modern And living off the land day by day............well,,, that is Rural Peru.
