The best clinics are in Lima, Peru. The Miraflores district is the former summer beach community for Peru's elite. The clinica Good Hope is in Miraflores on the Ocean and while not internationally accredited are very good. In San Isidro you have two that are accredited Anglo Americana and Clinica Delgado. Insurance companies that sell policies here are Pacifico,Mapfree and several others.

As a resident Expat there are limited mainstream ways to obtain Health Insurance.
There are three Insurance Companies:
Rimac
Pacifico
La Positiva

that offer various policies of insurance. With regards to health I only looked in to individual plans. I am sure there are plans for families.

For an individual plan for a man around your age it could cost in the neighborhood of 1000 s/. per month. You would have to take a medical from their Doctor who would also take some tests. Any pre-existing medical conditions would be excluded from coverage.
There are some illnesses that have a waiting period of around 10 months before you have coverage for them. After the waiting period for those you are covered, but during the waiting period, no.

I think there is a governmental sponsored national insurance policy but it has to do with either Citizenship or Employment. It is minimal at best.

There could be some kind of coverages offered through your employer if a person has a job. This would only be good If you have a job and of course you had the Right To Work. The Right to Work is or is not a provision of your residency depending on the basis of your residency.

I know of no private deals or arrangements with clinics and suppose you have to go to the hospital for any tests / how would the hospital alter its pricing from non-insured for your local clinic arrangement. I don't think that is do able.. but of course,, you can attempt.

There are no easy answers on medical coverage.

Here in Lima, private clinics offer discount plans for a small monthly premium and it covers dental as well, if they have a dentist.
