Hello, my name is David. I'm a middle aged Texan. I plan to visit Peru, or maybe somewhere else later this year. There is not much information online regarding offshore fishing ??. Does anyone know of any opportunities for fishing charters or locals/expats who sportfish and would like some help with the expenses?
I'm also single so a destination with some nice ladies is also a plus. I don't mean hundreds of streetwalkers but a nice female companion is always a plus. Thanx for your help.

Yo!,,,, dave...........
I have been visiting Peru for 15 years... I have lived in Trujillo for Two years and now Huanchaco for another 2 + .
I have been up and down the coast from Lima to Tumbes.....stopping in beach towns like Zorritos and Mancora and little towns that have been fishing the same way for hundreds of years..
Now,,, I have fished on Charters out of Captree, Freeport and Montauk - NY and once off the coast of Maine for Cod.......
In Peru I have not even seen a powerboat, a stern drive,, an outboard,,, nada.... niente.. no less charters for fishing....
Fishing here is done like is was for a long long time / with little boats fashioned from dried reeds grown on the coast...... and with nets....
On the road from Huanchaco toward Trujillo is the commercial fishmarket and I am sure these fish are caught with more sophisticated vessels but I don't know detail...
Possibly at the market you could hook up with one of the fisheman and go out onboard for a day or so but I have no idea what you will find onboard....or how they fish.....
So,,, I don't think your going to find exactly what your looking for but I hope you do.....
of course,,, there is always Surf Casting.......
Women,,, that is a whole other story...LoL !

I live near Trujillo in Huanchaco. The most frequent enterprise you find here is Restaurants....and Huanchaco known for Seafood would be a benchmark of the market. Ojo de Uva, Corvina, Mero, Lenguado and Chita are on every menu. In the marketplace you see less fancy fish for sale,,, Raya, Lusa, Perrico and Diamante. That is only a few, I see fish in the market all the time that I do not know what they are..... Just to say,,,, here,, there is no lack of fish......

Try LatinAmerican Cupid online to converse with a few Peruanas before you arrive. There will be several to choose from. I met my wife that way. We've been together for a year and I am still constantly amazed how sweet she is.

@Pistacio: You didnt mention yellow fin tuna or dorado......Why? No hay? Whats happening here in Panama now is that big brokers are comin down from the States and Japan and buyin up all the fish at twice the price that we usually pay becuz of the scarcity of fish in the north pacific.......I leave it to your imagination to specualate why this is so..........what I am very interested to know is if the fishing is still normal and abundant in Peru and just what the more serious local fisherman have to say....The guys who go way out looking for the tuna..........

hi,,,
I could only tell you about fish that I know... I will say that in the local mercado and in the Supermarkets that sell fresh fish it is rare,, Very Rare to see Tuna.... Local fishermen here go out in little boats,, often very simple reed boats and cast nets / selling their fish to the local market and restaurants.
I do not see yellow fin [tuna] in the restaurants either.
There is a more commercial fish market near Trujillo which is only open in the early mornings. Many fisherman sell their catch there. These are the people who fish for a living but I do not know anything about their equipment or how far out they go....
If you come to visit Peru I will tell you or show you exactly where the market is. You can speak to the sellers to find more about what is going on....
