When did that happen? Who filed the case in behalf of the Canadian expat? I am Canadian too from Ontario. Really hard to find one that loves u or the money. Know some expats who had been broke and was left behind.

This is a typical story of foreigners in the Philippines. I'm not saying it happens all the time but I've heard similar stories many times. Girl meets foreigner, Filipino boyfriend allows it to happen because he also makes use of the foreigners money until he gets too jealous. It also happens that after the girl and foreigner are together she meets Filipino guy (many times a trike driver who doesn't charge her), eventually same thing happens. They decide to get rid of foreigner....

it happened 3 yrs ago.. there are some newspaper articles on his facebook page at harry doyle.. it seemed to everyone that they loved each other dearly.. we were all shocked that this happened. im definitely more cautious now with who I associate with.

lets see how many times does this happen every day in the USA. I would imagine as a percentage that the occurrences like this are higher in the USA. Again pot calling the kettle black

considering all the same circumstances.. an expat from another country.. getting shot in the head by your wifes lover.. plus the fact that there is 3 times the amount of people in the u.s. as there is in the Philippines.. I seriously doubt it happens every day like you say

antiqueron
  2/7/2014 12:36 EST

it does not just happen to expats. That criteria is not necessary to get shot. You have a much greater chance of getting shot in the USA than most anywhere. So to put Filipinos in a bad light in comparison is just wrong.

I don't know anyone that this has happened to in the U.S. but I do know of a few that this has happened to in the Philippines. It's not about giving Filipinos a bad rap. It's about warning foreigners to keep your eyes open. It really happens especially when the foreigner is 15, 20. 30 years older than his wife. It would happen in the U.S. too if a rich guy married a girl 15-30 years his junior. Plus the fact that the rich guy is in a foreign country. It may not end in murder but just beware of younger wives having Filipino boyfriends on the side. It's not unheard of.

WOW, to blame the Philippines for this is crazy. It happens everywhere in most every country. I was a Police Sgt, for 31 yrs in a major U.S. City and I saw it all.... When I would go to work at 9pm and turn my Lap Top on we were usually backed up 50 to 60 calls.. Everything from shootings to rapes to barking dogs. It didnt stop all night. But I wanted to work in the busiest of places, so I am not complaining... I am tired of people being so scared in the Phils, From what I have seen, its much worse in the U.S. There were 32,000 murders from shootings alone in the U.S. just last Year. I spend 6 months of the year in the Philippines now and have never had a bad experience, and I am approaching my 21st trip to this beautiful country,... But like anywhere else You have to use your head or You will be coming home with it under Your arm.... Sure there are places in the Phils that I would never go, but there are places in San Francisco and Los Angeles and New York that I would never go either... What ever You do You have to think it out first, whether its going down a dark street or playing around with a popular 21 year old. BE ALERT!!! Just think things out if even for a minute or two and You will have a great life and live to be an old man....

In Toka, a small village in Mindinao, there are guns for hire very cheap. The Philippines is a dangerous place, but not any more than the South & West side of Chicago.

In our neighborhood in Prudential Village, Barrio of Daliao, Toril, Davao City, the local ladies will rat-out unfaithful Filipina wives, particularly those married to foreigners.. Unfaithful Filipina wives will loose the respect of their neighbors who love to gossip.

Retire in the Philippines and never work again. Is'nt that what retirement is all about? Go fishing, hiking, sightseeing, swimming, but dont let anyone know the amount of your pension, social security, rental income, investments.

I have told this story about Mr. Doyle on another topic. I heard about it from my American landlord so it's at least 2nd hand and now 3rd hand. According to him YES THE PHILIPPINES IS REPONSIBLE. They are busy shuffling and reshuffling the extradition papers. Again this is what was explained to me. When the guy was murdered in broad daylight in front of many persons only one guy was brave enough to testify and of course he was an American. So it seems as though DU30 has his work cut out for him but in this case would he even care ??? Now they say Abu Sayyaff has landed in Cebu city so I better keep my head low.

Here is a good look at it. I just found it and it wasn't exactly how I interpreted the story originally. It has 3 part video and James is in it several times.

I, for one, am not surprised. Not at all.

My trust in Filipinas has been betrayed big-time on several occasions.

What appears to others, and what appears to us as husband, is not necessarily what's inside her head.

JamesMusslewhite

bang4dabuck,
there were actually two Filipinos who gave sworn statements on what they saw witnessed that Sunday afternoon, in fact they both sat with a police artist. It was the inability of of the artist to draw a reasonable composite sketch which led to the two page Rouge Galley photos that was later shown to myself, my wife and a Canadian citizen. These two Filipinos have had their lives totally disrupted. One had to remove his children from school over an incident, and had to hire armed security and relocate, the other had to drop out of college and go into hiding, and they day she appeared in court me later that day using a photo, taken of her, myself and the Prosecution attorney Alfonso Casurra standing in front of the courthouse, which they were showing in her former neighborhood trying to locate her. The police fortunately had quickly gotten her out of the city after the hearing.

There are many who saw and heard much who are either too scared to sign a sworn statement or merely just don't want to get involved. The investigators during their investigation heard a lot from those they questioned, but unless these people are willing to sign sworn testimony it does them little good and can not be presented in a courtroom. Frankly most are just too scared to step forward.

As to the extradition, the Canadian authorities requested certain additions and removal or particular items withing the documents to comply with the needed and required formats, addresses structuring, etc. This has been completed by the office of Atty. Casurra and was recently forwarded. There is only one opportunity to present the documents for extradition and every possible corrections, omissions and additions must comply with the strict requirements requested by the Canadian authorities and courts. There is an INTERPOL Red Letter Notice on Jane Doyle but the Canadian authorities cite that these Red Notices hold no weight in Canada, yet just recently a European citizen was arrested and extradited due to an INTERPOL Red Letter. I also must be noted that all previous attempts from the Philippines to extradite their citizens from Canada and been denied. This is why the Philippines is being so cautious and taking their time to try to insure that the request will no be denied to a mere technicality due to a petty issue with the documents or case file. As I stated before, there will be only once chance and there are no do overs.

Ok, see when the information is 3rd hand. I got this story from a guy, let's call him Smokey, so anyways lost in translation I guess. So the Canadian government seems to be hanging this out to dry not Philippines, very surprised. In Smokeys story I was led to believe the 3rd son, the driver was the actual father, she was pregnant at time of murder and that was one of the motives for the killing. Also one of the suspects was a relative of hers ( brother ? Cousin ? ), was an impression I had. The murder was done at a large gathering with many witnesses. Was NPA involved in any part of this story ? I did try to read up on this but it was only involving Phil media which is usually unreliable and scarce on details. My 1st instinct as a foreigner is to assume that we always get the short end of the stick but the thing is I've had very few problems in the 2+ years I've been living here. I always am aware of Kano taxes and if I know it's happening I'll look to buy elsewhere. Let's hope DIRTY HARRY is really playing bad cop and doesn't really resent westerners but unfortunately I believe he is unhappy with us.

Remember the game PASS IT ON ??? LOL

b4db - That is the good question. Why is the Canadian government protecting a woman who has been charged with the murder of her husband and is living in his home town in New Brunswick? Political correctness to an extreme is why. Even with the Interpol Red Card observed by all nations for extradition, Canada remains the best country in the world to live in for a woman. If a woman kills her husband because of PMS, she gets off. If a woman says her husband emotionally abused her and hits him with a hammer until he is dead while he is sleeping, she gets off. This Filipina's husband was a Pariah, He was doing drugs, cocaine, shabu, and having one night stands with young Borings. Big no-no to be an ugly Canadian. Now, the wife has a lover too who assists in setting up the shooting, but no matter that. He is the one who arranges for the two brothers to do the killing. One eye witness saw them clearly. There is a hospital a few minutes away. Yet his wife only strokes his head while he is dying for 15 minutes and then calls her lawyer telling him she needs him right away. Then she takes $75,000 out of their bank account and flee's to Canada. Canada won't extradite her because she is a woman. If it was a man killing his wife, he would be immediately extradited. There is an incredible imbalance in justice favoring women first. University law departments are controlled by women deans. If the wife were returned to the Philippines she would get the death penalty. The Canadian government would never abet that kind of justice. In Canada, if your wife beats you up, you are arrested and taken into custody (to protect your wife). It's all about Misandry and Affirmative Action and radical feminism are alive and well. In the Federal Ministry I worked for they had a group of women who met weekly for an hour and a half. They called themselves: "wheel and sprocket". Their aim was to cream off all the best and completed files for themselves, leapfrog over the male competition to get the easiest and most senior positions. Men were allowed gofer problematic files and token roles. Not all federal ministries were like this however. Prostitutes work freely in Canada now, because it is against the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to force them into industrial or other areas which might endanger them. It was stated that the Filipina wife has trouble sleeping and the last minute change in the will giving her everything is held up in court because of the murder charge. He must have been very stoned when he took his own kids out of the will. Why am I leaving Canada for good? because I lost over $100,000 to gold-digger wives that I then had to support. My child support was spent on themselves, so I still had to pay for everything my kid needed. The tax deduction was given to her mother. Uh-OH Canada - only for the feminists. My Asawa says it's quite common here in the Philippines for the wife to murder her Westerner husband if he compromises himself.

bang4dabuck
  10/25/2016 16:43 EST

Was he a PARIAH . I didn't know that that had been established. I would think the Canadians have a high standard to send her back that haven't been met but I don't know why that investigative report didn't go to the authorities and get the explanation. It seems they are holding all the answers. Is it confidential or something ?

<<<

My first Pinay wife and visa/property scammer poisoned the minds of my 2 kids and, although having destroyed my life's work on lawyer fees alone, she didn't get what she hoped (my house + fancy everlasting maintenance moneys).

Now, 30 years later, they are still waiting for me to die and expecting to get the rest.

I therefore have taken my kids out of the will and willed everythings to a current girlfriend of 5 years standing (not living with her full-time, but that's another story).

I expect the bitch to challenge the will when the time comes, but they will have to fight for it, just like the first time.

When the kids don't treat me as their father, I owe them nothing.

standupguy

Spruik -maybe your situations are not identical. You make a good point though. The mother of my 23 year beautiful and talented daughter tried unsuccessfully to poison my daughter towards me. I only got 4 days of access a month for 11 years, when my daughter decided to live with me half time since I retired. My daughter and I established unconditional love from birth on. She came to me when she was in trouble or need. Not that she doesn't love her mother too, but she understands the differences of our personalities and values. If I want good advise, I go to my daughter. I feel you were cheated of this and it is a great shame. Forgive, but don't forget.

bang4dabuck - according to the CTV news reports, he was a PARIAH. But that was probably based on here-say. Yet his reputation as a risk taker and a bit of a loose cannon was verified by all who knew him. The question arises about where his judgement was. Was he the type to drink beer and ride his motorcycle? YES. Never associate with a femme fatale no matter how alluring and sexy she is. Keep the sharp end of the pointed stick at them.

The Philippines abolished their death penalty and Canada does has an extradition treaty,

standupguy

JamesMusslewhite Duterte has stated he will reinstate the death penalty. Why has Canada not responded to Interpol red card, or the Philippine request to extradite the wife? It can be easily assumed from the evidence coming from the Philippine investigation that she is guilty for arranging her husbands murder for that is what she is charged with. The delay's in Canada responding to these treaties and requests are?? As a Canadian and a former federal public servant, I can assure you that Canada has an abundance of smoke and mirrors, cover-up's, police who kill and lie, and corruption. If it were as sanitized as many assume, this Filipina (black) widow would not be living across the river from the relatives of her murdered husband undisturbed.

standupguy,

Reasonable questions I really can not answer. The evening I heard from some of the other Surigao expats that Harry had been murdered I started threads on five different expat forums. Two forums closed down completely, one totally dropped their forum section on their website and two of the expat forum sites are still running.

I continue to add any information to those two remaining threads whenever anything news worthy has come available to date. Nobody seems to be able to understand why Canada says they do not act on INTERPOL Red Letters when it comes to this case, but then arrests a European due to a INTERPOL Red Letter.

The Doyle family and pleaded and begged until blue in the face. Friends of Harry have petitioned and written politicians with no result to date.

I guess sometimes the point is there is no point, and the reason for nonsense is that the nonsense needs no reason. If common sense is sense that is supposedly common, then why is common sense so uncommon? I have found it all to be a big web of ironies.

Just saw the CTV video. Looks like he overstayed his welcome and there were people who were tired of his loudmouth boasting and belittling of others. He picked the wrong place to be himself. Offend enough of your wife's friends and they may steer her in the wrong direction. Probably would have gotten a punch in the face where he grew up but not in Phils.
