In the future if you or anyone else has problems with Philippines Airlines or for that matter any official in the Philippines use an important person's name. Lucio Tan is the owner of PAL. Next time say "my wife or my friend is a cousin to Lucio Tan. Then ask the guy his name. You can even say he was on of the ninongs (sponsors) at my wedding. Believe me, his attitude will change fast. You may even get an upgrade. Using someone's name works very well in the Philippines. Average people are scared of rich people because in the Philippines money talks. I had an old picture standing next to Mayor Alfredo Lim (Mayor of Manila) at some function. I kept it in my wallet, whenever I had a problem with authorities I'd accidently show off the picture. It worked every time. Who would want to take a chance that you actually personally know one of these people and risk losing their job. Life in the Philippines.
