Hi All
I am looking for a decent inexpensive hotel to stay in Lapu Lapu city for 2-3 days when I arrive May 16. I then will be looking for a place to live there or in Cebu. I have been looking over the last few months to no avail. Too many deposits. Anyone have suggestions? I am on S.S. disability. I am blind so getting around is a concern. If anyone knows of a inexpensive hotel in Hong kong l layover for 13 hours on the 15th of May . I would need a hotel Shuttle to be abel to get to the airport due to my blindnessThank you all very much.

Are you coming here and living alone? Have you ever been here before? If you are coming here alone and living alone, I fear for your safety. I obviously don't know what its like to be blind, and not sure how you find your way around in strange cities. But I honestly think you are going to be such an easy target, for robbery scams of every sort, even the taxi will probably rip you off. Shops and market stalls will rip you off you can't see what you are buying and how much its marked up for. Maybe I am being over dramatic but, blind, alone in this country, I truly fear for you. If you have gf here already are you totally sure of her love and honesty? Easy to take your wallet cash and credit card you won't see it. No my friend Philippines is a minefield and you can't see even the exposed mines.

You are very right chance. My aunt is blind as does ok here in the U.S. but there without the help of somebody would be impossible.

I have no idea how it is to be blind of course, I just really don't think that the Philippines is the place to be with such a handicap

I respect and appreciate your words and concerns. I do have people there. I hope those I do know I can trust. I know it is not easy there to trust. I ahev been through a few instances But to be honest here is not much better. Being blind is being blind anywhere. and I have no help here and have had predators and the liek take adfvantage here. Had someone punch me in the face two weeks ago to test my blindness. Must have been the pint in his back pocket that the police noted hen they came. I came back to San Diego last year which is incredibly expensive and I can't lead the kind of life I want to lead in any form. Since I know many there including Chase employees Code of conduct issues prveent them from talking about it until I get there.
I am giving it a shot. yes, It is a big challenge But so is everything one deals with blindness and 6 other diseases. There are great people there who are warm and hospitable by nature. It is a benevolent society unlike here which has changed over the years. I hope to meet many. I hoep to lead asimpel life with my disbality with less ocst and to live a decent life which I can't here. Plus help others which I have been doing for 13 years

Art - you say you have people here in Phils. Yet why are you posting online for room help? Who are they exactly and how did you meet them?

Just google "lapu-lapu hotels" and you can find every price range right there.

My advice, stay at the Shangri La Mactan, it's close to the airport and they will watch for your safety.
