I was browsing the YouTube site and came across this so called expat (who claims he's been in P.I. for the longest time) and claims he knows about expat life in P.I like a pro. He's in mid-thirties I think.. His videos about Phil. expats are about 1 1/2 or 2 yrs old, I believe, so one has to dig a little deeper in his YT channel to find these videos. I couldn't make sense on what's he talking about - is this guy for real or what? He seems unhappy living here Has anyone come across this guy in YouTube?

please dont give him attention. dont watch his videos etc. this guy is mentally ill and has fled the us. the more attention he gets the more money he makes via youtube or banners on his website

He is a very complex guy, he said he was a missionary but f you Google peter vandever there is a very damning article from a fellow missionary. He has been accused of using other peoples photographs and saying they are his. I came across him on Facebook where he joined so many different groups and was then thrown off them because of his elitest views, he hates poor Filipinos saying they are lazy and don't try to better themselves. He only likes the professional upper classes. Very contraversal man and very difficult to agree with so much of what he says. He stirs up trouble on Facebook all the time. Unfortunately a lot of what he says is true but he shoots himself in the foot by being so elitest. He says he is a programmer or something and views himself as upper class. I would like to meet h face to face and really know the real person, but that will not happen. Not sire if he is still on fb I don't have an account there any more, too much drama, backstabbing and outright lies for me.

He said he was born here has dual citizenship his dad was in the military here with his wife. States all the colleges he attended and universities and all his qualifications. He has a son here not sure if wife or gf I filipina. Very verty strange man indeed

@chance . i can say the same thing about poor english and poor americans. people are poor most of the times by choiche. and i know that cause i used to live on the streets and am now a member of rotary. The way he is saying it that is what offends most people. He has a website. leave a message over there so you can be best buddies.

I don't want to be his best buddie at all. He says he believes in god and Jesus but some of the things he said on fb to me and others were hardly Christian like at all. Sorry I am not a fan of his at all.

@ Chance2014 & BertelBertelsen yes, I remember him calling all Filipinos Lazy, all Filipinas whores & gold diggers, most expat pedophiles & sexpats, and Philippines a s#!!+ hole country. I just couldn't figure out why he's still here if he hates it so much? That's why I'm asking you guys if this Peter is for real or not? Is he just making drama on his YT channel just to up his viewerships in his monetized channel? I don't have a facebook either Chance2014. But so many questions about this guy (piqued my interest). I'm surprised he has some regular viewers/commenters on his videos and seems like they have the same bigoted views as Peter's. I was just shaking my head after watching a couple of his videos about expats & Filipinos. Bertelsen, you may have something there when you said he's a mental case. He might be, indeed.

Ibasked him straight if he hates the people and the country so much why does he atay , he claims to have all sorts of qualifications, that would command a good salary in USA again I asked why he stayed here. He could not AMD would not give me a straight answer. He upset so many people on fb and was thrown out of every group he jouned . mental health problem? I think so, not a stupid man, but his English grammer and spelling in some of his articles were terrible. But really he should just be ignored he thrives on arguments.
If you look at his pictures he looks very unkempt dresses very scruffy I don't think he would blend in very well with his so called 'upper class' friends. An oddball

@chance 2014 As of March 4, 2017 PV the wannabe "expert" of the Philippines has closed his YouTube account and has stopped vlogging. As he claims in his YT travelogue channel he claims to be the best source of information about living the expat life in P.I. But in my one year of visiting his "travelogue" channel & watching some his vids every now & then, I have observed that all he does is insult & slander other expats & their wives in his videos. Calling them "sexpats" or "pedophiles" (just because they have a young; but legal age Filipina wife) and their wives "whores" & "gold-diggers". Whenever there's a pushback from these expats he attacked, Peter raises his victim card & sympathy card on his vlogs, These back & forth went on till this week. Apparently his regular viewers got tired of Peter's drama cycle & lack of useful content in his channel. His viewership in YT was abysmal compared to other expat vloggers who were really showing how they & their family were living in P.I. The 37 yr old Peter was living like a bum during the last few months. Living from one cheap pension house to another cheap pension house. He even skipped paying his 200 Php bill at Ong Bun Pension House in Bacolod last February and went straight to Cebu city to look for another cheap pension house. His last few vlogs in YouTube were done with only voice-over static videos (not showing his face). He has hocked his camera & laptop and was doing his final vlogs at an internet cafe. Oh, how the "Mighty" have fallen.

@draks That's news to me. From what I heard, he has 2nd degree sexual demeanor for exposing himself at a Taco Bell parking lot & some ladies at his church group back in St.Joseph, Missouri. Unpaid child-support, Failure to appear in court numerous times. And his unpaid visa fines for overstaying in the Philippines. He's stuck here for the duration. His only income is his adsense from YouTube. He closed his channel : Peter Vandever; but he just revived his other 2 YT channels: latter rains & HDR School.

He lives like a fugitive/hobo combination and never stays at one place for more than a week. If ever he's caught by the PNP or Bureau of Immigration, he'll be thrown at the Bicutan Immigration Detention Center (a pure hell-hole) for overstaying and unpaid visa fines. Just today, his YouTube channel has resurfaced again; but his thousands of useless, misinformation videos are gone. Last time I check, he has only about 4 old videos he has just uploaded at that new channel. But his camera & laptop are gone (most likely stolen or pawned). He won't be a successful vlogger if he doesn't have a camera or a laptop - which is his bread & butter for living here in the Philippines.

Peter has a long hatred of other expats vlogging in YouTube and Reekay Velez is his most hated one among the many. It's all fueled by his jealousy on these expats vloggers - seeing them living comfortably & happy in an apartment or house w/ their Filipina girlfriend or wife, dining out, & going to resorts once in awhile. Peter notices too on the success of these other expats in their YT vlogging. He attacks, insults, & slander other expats for unfounded reason & most of the time plays the 'victim card' if those expats makes a response video on his unfounded accusations. Recently his laptop & camera for vlogging was either stolen or hocked by himself at a pawnshop. His YT channel was hacked & all his videos gone. He set up a new YT channel and has been re-uploading his old vids in an internet shop ever since.

I volunteered in a county jail doing psychotherapy with inmates. This guy is the epitome of a meth head, crankster and tweeker. Why is he still in the Philippines with all the trouble? Better questions are why is he still alive? Where will this guy not have trouble?

PV got in trouble first in his hometown St. Joseph, Missouri, for allegedly exposing himself in a Taco Bell parking lot. Then he exposed himself again to a group of church ladies in his local church. He skipped the country and went to Samoa, where he racially insulted the Samoans and scammed some people for donations for his non-existent missionary work. Went to Fiji Islands and went crazy with a local female there. Now he's in the Philippines spreading his "terror". Aside from being a meth head, he has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), bordering on being a Sociopath or a Psychopath. He can't be caught because he never stays in one place for a long time and moves around all the time. But for sure he's stuck in the Philippines for the rest of his miserable life.

It is very bizarre. The guy obviously has mental issues but I really wonder about the mental health of adults who spend so much time obsessing over the whole thing. I think maybe it's in the water over there. I won't look at anymore You Tube vids and give someone 1/10 of a penny in AdSense. Time to move on,
