Anyone here shipped stuff using BB's from the US? Specifically, I had some BB's with my personal effects shipped from Miami (to my address in Manila) on the 3rd week of December, 2016. Tracking with the forwarding Company (LBC Express) using the Bill of Lading numbers was not especially helpful. All I got was confirmation of the date my stuff was accepted in Miami, something I already knew. Any info from folks as to expected date of arrival here would be greatly appreciated. I do understand any EDA's would be approximate at best. Thanks!

My last BB box took 85 days from California to Manila. It had not been opened and a package of mission corn tortillas were still good.

Interesting! I'm impressed. Where did your BB originate from? Did you use the lbcexpress.com for tracking? The website was not very useful for me, Perhaps I am trying a little too early (my stuff was shipped on December 23rd). Thanks.

Used Forex many times never had a problem. Still takes 6. To. 8. Weeks. Remember this is the Philippines. No one gets in any type of hurry here.

6 to 8 weeks from the USA is about right. When you get the notice from your Shipper that it has arrived it can still sit in Manila or be on a local delivery truck for another couple of weeks but 8 weeks to your door is normal.

Calvin, LBC has a new website to track your shipping. They didn't inform anyone very well at all. :(
Try here: http://corpsrv.teamlbc.com.ph/lbctrackandtrace/Default.aspx
Hope that helps!

LBC is good and fairly priced. Avoid low priced Continental. No customer service, tracking is on-n-off, and service is slower by a month.

Thanks Singlelooking. That is the guy I used for Miami. Someone here led me to him. He seems pretty good and also uses LBC. The only problem is he gave me an older website which was not much help. Ultraf helped with that. I hope it works. Thanks for responding.

Thanks UltraFJ40. The info I obtained via the link you provided was much more detailed than the one given to me by the agent in Miami. The estimated date of arrival (EDA) for my BB's is 2.1.2017. Even if the EDA is off by a week or two, at least it helps me plan my move out of Manila. A word of thanks to everyone else for helping out with info and their experiences with the EDA.

You are most welcome. In the defense of the agent, the website he gave you is what LBC suggests and has for years. It was only a few months ago after my complaining that I was able to dig up the new site. I explained to them in California that a "new site" wasn't very useful if they don't tell us about it. :) Anyway, I'm glad it helped. Oh, by the way, customs has been pretty quick lately when processing boxes. I've seen anywhere from three days to just short of a week before they are leased back to LBC. So you may want to factor in an additional 3-5 days into it's delivery. Cheers

It seems to me that it is normal for packages to take around 2 months. Companies wait until they have enough to fill a shipping container. I've only sent 1 BBB and on the advice of friends and from reviews I chose, and recommend Manila Forwarders. My box in 2012 was not opened but I believe the law may have been changed recently. At least there was talk of changing but with a significant public outcry to which I have no information.

I am pretty sure the b-box inspections went away. People went nuts at the proposals. The masses dont trust anyone here including neighbors. We shouldnt either

There was a tv news release in U.S, don't know what channel or maybe TFC. About Philippines b-box inspectors stealing millions of dollars of goods from B-Boxes each day.
There was also a TV news release about guns being smuggled into the Philippines in B-boxes from U.S.
I would recommend sending only legal goods in your boxes. We have never had a problem with LBC. Any more than 12 of the same item is generally considered to be goods for resale and is subject to confiscation.

I think it will eventually be inspected guns and drugs are coming in here is BBQ boxes and Du30'sdrugs war might make it more difficult to manufacture drugs here, bb boxes have been used for years for drugs and guns, and many many send products to be sold here, that's pretty common knowledge. So I reckon that it will be just a matter of time, x-ray each box might be the way forward, and sniffer dogs

The BB system is totally abused and even if the current rules were applied is would be mayhem. By the rules you are only allowed to send two boxes per calender year and the duty free allowence is $500 with a perscribed list of contents.

Thanks Ultra and to all the rest of you for your input. My only concern is that according to the LBC site, my stuff departed from Jacksonville, FL on January 2nd and the approximate EDA is February 2nd. Seems earlier than the times assessed by most here. Based on other posts here too, some of which are rather bleak --- all my stuff is strictly household (kitchenware, Tupperware, books, 220v blender, stereo, guitars, bedding and the like) no drugs, no ammo. All clean and strictly legal. If they assess steep customs duties, they can keep the boxes. No sense in losing my sleep over it. It won't be worth it. Spent enough on storage and shipping already. The thieves can enjoy their loot. Will rummage the labeled boxes inside the BBs for my degree certificates/books and my old guitars and take off, lol. Must continue to hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. I hope my stroke of good luck thus far (smooth visa extension, residence, annual report) continues. The first year of my retirement life here has been very gratifying. I am determined not to let any BB BS ruin my party, lol.

Good idea, no need to fret the BB box stuff. I think it was in October of last year that customs introduced xray machines but I do believe they still "spot" check on occassion. LBC alone was receiving about 30-40,000 boxes a month in Manila just before Christmas. My wife sent about 120 of those. They have all arrived and she had no complaints of stuff missing. **Here's some useless info, All boxes from the SE region of the US leave out of Jacksonville. There's even been times when the ports in Texas were affected by recent hurricanes that they trucked those to J-ville too.***All delivery people in the Phils are "employees" of LBC and not sub-contractors. I think this helps keep the pilfering down to a minimum (if they make it past customs). Either way, good luck in your move. I hope all goes well. Mabuhay!

55 jumbo's out of Seattle with Atlas. No issues of any kind and arrived in about 75 days average. Took the time to line the insides with thin plywood for the tools and very heavy stuff.

I used Atlas as well for 3 Jumbo from Iowa to North Luzon. No problems, no pilfering, arrived almost to the day they predicted.

Maraming salamat po! Especially for your reassuring words, Ultra, especially knowing that you shipped so many BB's and all arrived intact. Well, the EDA for my stuff is only a day away. Can't wait to receive them so my wife and I can get on with our move out of Manila. To the rest of you, I appreciate your input.

For those of you that might have future boxes shipped, understand that one of our groups that was due to be delivered in the RP before Christmas was delayed and left Korea three times before going back to port. The typhoon that affected Bicol caused a 12 day delay in the deliverydue to an uncertain track. Just a heads up that the weather will play a significant role in the delivery. Most of this info is available on the updated website that I posted earlier. Hope this helps.

I ship from Maryland and use Global Cargo. It usually takes around 70 - 80 days now that it goes directly to Cebu rather than getting held up in Manila. I like them a lot.. One of there agents will come by my house to pick up usually a few days after I call them. They even strapped the box last time it was so heavy. Their boxes are very large and heavy duty. Cost about $70 and I give the guy an extra $5.

Ultra, just thought I'd let you know that the link you provided worked fine at first and gave the tracking info in great detail. A few moments ago I clicked on the link and it defaulted to the old website with absolutely no info. The fist time I went to the outdated site I sent a message. No response to date and I'm back to square one, lol.

Spot on, Bang4dabuck. I just went to a site whose link was kindly provided here by UltraJ...The site worked fine and was loaded with tracking info. today I navigated to the exact same site only to default to the outdated one with zero info...I know exactly where you are coming from, lol. No contact info and no response to messages sent. Oh well!

danielbaxter, The price for sending is area specific as well as company specific. Most of the time it depends on the volume, distance and competition. Here in SW Fla it's $100 ,larger cities on the east coast can be as much as $20-25 less (because of volume)------------Calvin, I just checked that site again and just as you said, it reverted back to the useless one. :( I guess it's always more fun in the Philippines.....I suppose. :)

In New Jersey if you deliver to the shipping office in Jersey City or Bergenfield it's only $35 delivered anywhere in the Philippines and it takes 2 months most of the year with tracking.

It really depends on where you are shipping from and how often they ship containers. Large Filipino owned companies have less of a problem with customs because they know how to oil the system. Needless to say when shipping it's always better to use a Filipino name as the sender and receiver.

Just an update. My BBs were delivered (intact) to my door on 2.22.2017, exactly 51 days from the date they left Jacksonville, FL. I heeded your advice, UltraFJ40, on not fretting during the wait, lol. That was priceless. Thank you all for your input.
