Home/building insurance is widely available in the Philippines. I've no idea what US equivalent condo insurance is. Insurances tend to start at a basic fire/lightning strike insurance which will cost 2-3000 peso per annum. You can at extra cost add various levels of cover up to a comprehensive cover. Condo cover and house cover are distinctly different so do your research first.

Can I make a suggestion?
Don't just come here and buy a condo, rent first for a couple of years to see if you like the area or not, or that you like living here or not. Visiting here and living here are vastly different. Forget USA standards this is Philippines, there are not the laws setup here to protect the consumer, insurance can be a risk, as to whether they pay out or not.
But my main advise is don't buy ANY property until you are very sure your happy with the area, and happy with living here.
