Guys, planning on moving there leveraging passive income by late 2017. Sales and Call Center professional. Read all the "why nots" looking for the " hows". I will be living off US earned income, but want to increase or get foot in door.

Q: How likely would it be to work in or run a call center as an American as a second job (after passive) that caters to Westerners? If you can't answer specifically pls. feel free with Pig Farmer jokes, some were pretty funny on last thread, lol

As a call centre 'agent' just being able to speak English will just put you with all the Filipinos who speak English. I know of a Dutch guy who works in Manila but he speaks German Flemish English and fluent French. He was earning 80,000php per month but unless you have other languages they need it will be difficult. Obviously you will need a work permit.
To start your own call centre you will need the relevant permissions licenses etc there is a minimum investment rule, which I am sure is $50,000 us. Plus you must have a Filipino partner 60% share holder. Of course if you are already married to a filipina get your 13a visa and you can start any business without minimum investment but you still need a 60% Filipino partner, usually the wife, and I think also you can work.
You really do need to do some real research here before you make any plans tho, that's 100% important. Hope that was not too negative.
Now maybe answer me a question, your president wants everyone to buy American and will tax heavily imports? And any company outsourcing labour they will be taxed, will that include call centres I wonder.
Good luck

Invest 100,000 and instantly your shares are worth 40,000 and your Filipino partner has 60,000. Better off raising pigs, at least you can walk away with a full belly if it flops.

I was offered 60,000Php per month in a call center because I'm fluent in Spanish. (which I turned down) But with English, many many here speak perfect English. A friend puts on classes teaching Filipinos to lose their accent and makes a good living at it. A Portuguese friend of mine works and is making 80,000 in a call center owned by Indians and their business is making them filthy rich. Instead of working for somebody else, you may consider starting your own call center.

I think that's what he is looking at doing, starting his own business, but he will still need a 60% business partner, who I garauntee will not put in the 60% investment. So the foreigner puts up 100% of the investment, pays 100% of the costs of lisences etc but only owns 40% of the company. The major share holder will have more power and say in what happens to that company, the foreigner might even get voted off the directorship haha.
I wonder what the total cost of setting up a call centre here is.

Reading his message again he said a job running a call centre not owning it. Best thing really is to find accompany in USA that outsource their call centre here and see if they will employ him here, much easier. To get a work permit and the pay might be higher. But other than that I can't see it happening.
